Significantly Lowered Cost
- Beginning with lower purity battery precursors, DirectPlate™ refines, synthesizes, and deposits active battery materials in a single process.
- DirectPlate™ eliminates several costly chemical refining steps and transportation costs between chemical refining plants required in the conventional slurry cast battery manufacturing process.
- By starting with lower purity battery precursors, we significantly reduce the material cost of our lithium-ion electrodes. Conventional slurry-cast electrodes require higher cost, highly refined battery-grade powders.
Higher Energy Density
- The higher porosity of StructurePore™ eliminates swelling, so anodes can have more active battery material.
- DirectPlate™ process eliminates carbon additives and polymer binders, so electrodes contain 10-20% more active battery material.
- We have achieved up to a 40% increase in energy density which means increased range in electric vehicle (EV) battery packs and longer run-time on power tools.

- The higher porosity and tortuosity of StructurePore electrodes enable 250x faster ion transport through our battery.
