Xerion Advanced Battery Corp has developed a revolutionary lower cost, simpler process for making higher performance lithium-ion batteries….and the process is eco-friendly. Our manufacturing process mitigates carbon emissions by as much as 40%. DirectPlate™, our novel battery manufacturing process, dissolves lithium, cobalt, manganese, and nickel precursors in a molten salt bath and then electroplates battery materials onto aluminum foil to create finished electrodes. Our three-step process replaces the conventional slurry cast battery electrodes, which has up to fourteen steps. DirectPlate™ is fundamentally simpler and significantly less expensive.

3.) Chemical Refinement
Lower cost: DirectPlate™ uses lower purity Li, Co, and Ni salts. This eliminates several refinement steps and two chemical refineries from the process. Reduces material costs, energy consumption, and transportation costs.
Fewer refinement steps: Simplified process reduces steps in battery metal refinement process.
4.) Battery Powders
Lower cost: Further reduces material cost, energy consumption, and transportation costs.
Fewer refinement steps: Completely eliminate several steps to refine battery precursors into highly refined battery powders, as DirectPlate™ is both a refinement and deposition technique.
5.) Battery Electrodes
Simplified process/fewer steps: DirectPlate™ synthesizes battery electrodes in a single, continuous process, which eliminates several steps in the conventional slurry-casting process.
Improved battery performance: DirectPlate™ deposition process orients the battery material such that ion conductivity in the electrode increases more than 100x. This improves battery kinetics (charge time) and performance (life cycle).
6.) Cell Assembly
High quality: We use Manz AG’s state-of-the-art assembly technology to assemble battery cells.
7.) Battery Packs
We provide battery cells to OEM battery pack manufacturers.
